I went to the local FYE where I live to have them hold a copy of the cd when it comes out Tuesday and by my luck the guy that worked there was good friends with my cousin and let me have the cd today. They got their new releases for next week on Friday but his boss was working so he didn't want to take a chance and get fired.

Anyways....Death Dealer is kick ass from start to finish. It's got a similiar sound to the songs off of Magnum Opus & Seventh Sign but with better vocals of course. Damnation Game sounds similiar to what he had done on the last two albums but it sounds a lot more aggressive to me. Live To Fight (Another Day) starts off with bells ringing and the guitar intro sounds very Arabian. This sound Ripper truly kicks ass singing in his lower register and still soaring at times. You really have to listen to this song it's one of the best songs his done in ages. Red Devil is a song about Ferrari's and it has more of a hard rock sound to it versus a metal vibe. Four Horseman has a constant galloping riff throughout and it has a cool chorus. Priest of the Unholy is a really standout track also, the keyboards are more profound here but the vocals are also clearer.

Be Careful What You Wish For sounds like it could have been on Facing The Animal cd and I love Ripper's singing on this track a lot. Caprici Di Diablo is just a sick & insane instrumental and it makes my fingers ache thinking of all the notes he has put on this track. Lament is another instrumental and it's reminds me of Brothers off of Seventh Sign. Magic City is the one track that Yngwie steps in and takes over the vocals for this bluesy number. It's an okay song but I prefer the heaviness that was on the rest of the cd. Then, Eleventh Hour comes in and just kicks my ass it's so fucking epic and I can't wait to hear this live. Heavy Heart closes out as the last song and last instrumental and it's more heartfelt and melodic but typical of Yngwie's releases.

In my opinion this is the best cd Yngwie has done since Magnum Opus. A few days ago I watched an interview with Yngwie and he was asked about how he had stated early summer that he had recorded 39 songs for this albums. The interviewer asked him what he planned on doing with the other songs and he stated they would use them on the next cd.

The thing with this cd for most Ripper fans is if you don't like Yngwie's music prior to this cd you will not probably enjoy this cd. For me it is in my top 3 Yngwie cd's ever released, Magnum Opus, Trilogy and then Perpetual Flame. Honestly I think if you can listen to this cd a few times with an open mind and not the mind set that Yngwie is some egotistical bastard who only shows off then you might like it. There is a lot of kick ass riffs, solo, melodies and Ripper's singing is really strong.

I agree, if you don't have a real liking for Yngwie, you probably wont get it. I haven't heard much from this new cd, but from what I heard, I liked.

As other people have said, if your not into the whole guitar hero, million notes per second solo's, regardless of who's singing you might not like it.

I recall when i first started to listen to Yngwie's music (introduced by a friend about 8 years ago), i didnt really like it that much, but i did like the guitar riffs/melodies, just the solo's never grabbed me as they all sounded the same. But after some perserverance i started to like the music. It grew on me the more i listened to his style.
