A Wal-Mart worker has died after being trampled by a throng of shoppers shortly after a store opened Friday on Long Island in New York State, police said.
Frenzied shoppers desperate for bargains broke down the doors at a 5 a.m. sale. Other workers were trampled as they tried to rescue the man, and customers shouted angrily and kept shopping when store officials said they were closing because of the death, police and witnesses said.
At least four other people, including a woman who was eight months pregnant, were taken to hospitals for observation or minor injuries, and the store in Valley Stream on Long Island closed for several hours before reopening.
Shoppers stepped over the man on the ground and streamed into the store. When told to leave, some complained that they had been in line since Thursday morning.
Nassau County police said about 2,000 people were gathered outside the store doors at the mall about 20 miles east of Manhattan. The impatient crowd knocked the man, identified by police as Jdimytai Damour of Queens, to the ground as he opened the doors, leaving a metal portion of the frame crumpled like an accordion.

WTF?
2,000 people lined up since the day before break down a door and trample a guy to death. To shop at Wal-Mart.
2,000 people lined up to shop at Wal-Mart.
People lined up overnight to shop at Wal-Mart.
People kicked down a door to shop at Wal-Mart.
People stepped on and over a mortally wounded man to shop at Wal-Mart.
People crushed a man to death to shop at Wal-Mart.
Not one of these sentences make sense.

people are fucking stupid. All to save a few dollars. I hope they have a great holiday season. They probably could care less about the guy, or his family. _________________

I can't believe this kind of shit.
These aren't starving people in some war-torn third-world country fighting for food.
These are middle class people with money in their pockets to burn. They're willing to physically fight and injure people to get something they see as a bargain.
At Wal-Mart.
How can you hold your head up knowing you kicked down a door and fought with people to get a bargain at Wal-Mart? WTF is the matter with you? _________________

Good thing the WalMart here is open 24 hours a day.
People are fucking crazy when it comes to bargains. I used to work at Zeller's here in Canada. The day a month I hated was Dollar Daze. Our store would be instantly full of of people and it would stay that until dinner time. I would spend the entire shift getting shopping carts. Wasn't bad in the summer, but it really sucked in the winter. _________________ I hate it when when psychics touch my shit. |

I think Bullet has hit the nail on the head with that comment, it also appeared on my home page news bulletin. I think all our thoughts have to go to all the person`s family and friends etc.
What a sad time of the year it`s going to be for the family. All for a crazy sale etc. PowerKnight _________________ Joust With Thee

| Wal- Mart is a crazy freakin' place to shop nowadays...My mom and I went to Wal- Mart on Black Friday...Anyway, I was standing in line waiting to purchase something. I wasn't even in line for 5 minutes, and the people behind me wanted to start fights with the people behind them...Well, needless to say I will absolutely never go to wal- mart again on black friday. |

What I also found very sad in the week is the fact Woolworth`s here in the UK have fallen through with job losses etc.
Besides the fact it has been a household name and everyone`s family over the years have all shopped there through the generations.
But what was even more sadder was the fact they had a final day clearance etc.
Disappointed shoppers were seen coming out with comments like...oh they said everything would be 50% discounts. Only to discover some items were at those prices and most were 10% sales.
Forgetting the fact this marvellous brand name over the years have served us well, only then to complain about the final clearances!!! I stayed well away with no intention of stripping it down to the last shred, some people are never happy. PowerKnight _________________ Joust With Thee

I didn't know Woolworth's still existed.
They folded completely in Canada about 15 years ago. And they struggled for years before that. _________________
