Well, that depends. Ripper does the acoustic version better...But I've never heard him do the electric version, so Rob would win that.

I was going to go for both versions, but Tim on the various live CD versions doesen`t just nail it. He added yet another dimension in the way he delivers the song. Rob is struggling on recent versions live, believe it or not Blackmore`s Night did a recent cover of this track.
And it`s sublime, anyone heard the original from Joan Baez? If you haven`t I strongly recommend it.
It`s a biographical song on her relationship with Dylan, the lyrics are stunning as we all know and the song is one of the finest ever recorded. You must checkout this original, PowerKnight Twisted Evil

For me, it's all about Live in London. That version blows my mind.
Tim's passion is incredible. I get chills.
The original Baez version is neat to listen to, but its quite different.
It has about three times the lyrics, and no big chorus.
Its a standard folk story-telling style song.

The original version of Green Manalishi is amazing.
Spooky, doomy, dark tune. I might even prefer it to the Priest version.

Have you heard Rob do the acoustic version.............He adds nothing to it that makes it even as good as Ripper's.

And im sure Tim can sing the electric version

Cool

I utterly and totally HATE the fast version of this song, and when I first heard them do the acoustic version with Tim I fell in love with the track that I'd previously hated...So Tim for me on this one....(too)

Priest`s original version from Sin After Sin is brilliant, but I do reckon the versions performed with Tim slowing down the pace and getting it back to a original acoustic is breathtaking.
I agree when I first heard the take I was gobsmacked, sends shivers down your spine. Honestly Tim created something else with Priest he is that good, not forgetting Rob being the anchorman and the reputation he had built up over the years.
Here was an extrordinary talent that really made it a pleasure again to listen to HR/HM music with a top pedigree singer who is easily ranked along the all time greats, and we all know who they are.
Although Myke I wouldn`t say the Baez original is a standard folk song, it`s much more than that.
When I first heard it after hearing Priest and Halford`s comments on the song I just had to get the original.
Very few songs can stop you dead in your tracks and this is one of them, Baez was the full package. Singer/songwriter, the Queen of folk, Rob obviously saw the potential in this song and full credit for him giving it a different angle. PowerKnight Twisted Evil

Yeh I think your right metalus, I played it but I haven`t watched or listened to it for a while. It is weaker than Ripper`s performance and take on it, PowerKnight Twisted Evil
