He was a DiMarzio endorser for years, but left them recently and today Evan Skopp, one of the head guys at Seymour Duncan posted this on the forum:
"Stay tuned for more information about Yngwie Malmsteen's new signature pickup, the Seymour Duncan YJM Fury Stack for Strat."
Interesting news! _________________ Xeper

Yngwie is on the Seymour Duncan forum right now, having a live Question and Answer session with the members!
Pretty cool huh?
Only one question per member - I was going to ask how he likes working with Tim, then worried he might get pissed off since it's a Q&A about him, not Ripper, so I asked if he'd ever consider using a humbucker in his guitars for a heavier tone. _________________ Xeper

Glad to see it happens to someone else too!
I've taken part couple of times on these Q&A chats and I've never gotten an answer....I suppose they just can't see every question or have the time answer everyone or maybe I've just given the wrong wibe every time... _________________

All right then ya metal maniacs bear with me 'coz I'm bout to stumble here over the language barriers come the technical terms.
A strange urban legend about Yngwie here in Sweden is when he was approximately about 15 years old, already having a keen hearing back then.
He made remarks over the weak sound original Start single coil pick ups sometimes made.
So a rumour is that Yngwie hand the pick ups custom-made wrapped them up with extra copper wire.
Getting more sustain and cleaner picking sound.
This rumour could be as fake as my tits but kinda cool anyway.
Poor example but when I play Blitkrieg with Yngwie I split my humbucker witha single coil for getting a cleaner picking sound.
Anyway here's a little little more info about Yngwie's new pickups.

Probably true, there's lots of guys around winding their own pickups. Even back then guys like Seymour Duncan were doing it on a smaller scale. _________________ Xeper
