If you like you can consider these two albums as Priest`s finest full throttle molten metal albums. And in many ways can be considered as Priest`s finest albums. But my intention is on the particular tracks themselves, both studio and live versions.
And Painkiller v Jugulator represent both Rob v Ripper in many ways, metal at it`s peak!!! With an industrial depth added with speed metal overtones it doesen`t get any more brutal than this.
At the same time they had Rob and Ripper to deliver the goods, screaming banshee`s! This is top pedigree metal as you can get, okay enough of waxing lyrical...what`s your choice? PowerKnight _________________ Joust With Thee

I've always felt Tim has a sharper more precise attack when it comes to screams, but as an overall album, I'd have to go with Painkiller. What I would've liked it Painkiller take 2, redone with Tim's vox on it...That'd be neat... _________________

I don't know if I've heard a live version of Jugulator.
The album version of Painkiller is an absolute metal classic. One of the greatest of all times. Unfortunately, Rob's live version is ... not as good.
Jugulator isn't in the same league as Painkiller. _________________

You're right.
It's far above and beyond that league. _________________

They are both stellar albums, but so very different that it is impossible to say which is the better one... _________________

Painkiller was the album that introduced me to heavy metal so for me it's one of the best albums of all time |

I've never been a massive fan of Painkiller (the album, I love the song).
So I voted Jugulator. _________________ Xeper
