I have to admit I haven't paid for it yet, I downloaded it (cut me some slack I just couldn't wait, and I own all their albums, sometimes on both vinyl and CD, plus DVDs, singles, box sets, shirts, etc etc! I'll buy the CD when I get to a shop!)

I'm just listening the first track. The intro was weird (but excellent, I loved it), like something off a Brucey solo album, it was a bit jarring to jump straight from that into a standard Maiden rock n roll number.
But it sounds fucking excellent, production wise. Not as compressed as previous albums, and Bruce sounds a lot more "live" too. It's brilliant. And the guitar work on the first song is just fucking briliant too.

I never liked AMOLAD all that much, but listening to this sounds great, like meeting an old, great friend, after a long absence.
Maiden are the fuckin kings of metal, and always will be!!! Twisted Evil

Yeah, aside from the two singles, I haven't given in to cheating. I'm waiting for Tuesday. Gonna hit up my local Newbury comics before work and crank it all day. Can't wait!

I got the album on friday, and it's really good. Not as good as AMOLAD, but still better than Brave New World and Dance Of Death (which I both loved).
Here are my ratings of the tracks:

1. Satellite 15..... The Final Frontier - 5/5
2. El Dorado - 4/5
3. Mother Of Mercy - 4.5/5
4. Coming Home - 5/5
5. The Alchemist - 4/5
6. Isle Of Avalon - 5/5
7. Starblind - 5/5
8. The Talisman -5/5
9. The Man Who Would Be King - 4/5
10. When The Wild Wind Blows - 5/5

But the album is growing on me, and some songs will probably get better ratings as I listen to them more and more...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Compared to the other albums, this is how I rank it:

1. Powerslave
2. AMOLAD
3. POM
4. SSOASS
5. TXF
6. TFF
7. TNOTB
8. SIT
9. IM
10. BNW
11. FOTD
12. DOD
13. Killers
14. VXI
15. NPFTD

I might actually be getting this before it hits the 50% off sale-baskets...Although I too might want to check it out before buying so I won't feel so fuckin' ripped off as I did after buying that piece of shit A Matter Of Life And Death...now that was a complete waste of money...But what I've heard of this...well atleast most people are saying that it's better than AMOLAD...although that doesn't mean a whole lot of nothing yet.

Hey post #2000! Woohoo!
Yeah I know pretty pathetic 'uh...

Dude, you rated them all 5/5, except three 4's and a 4.5. Not many "low" ratings there or much room for improvement. Laughing

Picked up the album yesterday at Worst Buy($9.99 1st day only!),gave it 1 listen so far,and so far I like it!Ive had to convince myself lately that IM isnt much of a metal band anymore, but more of a prog metal band, that way I can listen to a 10 min. long song, without getting frustrated. Is it as good as the older records?Hell,no!But is it shitty? No way!BNW was OK,Dance of Death was gay, from the artwork,to the songs, and the lyryucks. At that point,I gave up on IM.Never bought the last record, heard it was bad,but I heard good things about the new one,so I had to give it a chance.Cant really comment on it too much, untill I hear it more, but so far,so good.........

so far the only songs that do something for me are Starblind and The Talisman.

All and all its a good album I still like Brave New World better though. Dance of Death and A matter of life and Death weren't good for me maybe if i keep listening to this one ill like it better Very Happy
