straight off Richard Christy's site
"Well it's been quite a while since I've updated my site because I've been fully immersed in Halloween activities for the last month and a half and I've also been finishing up writing the songs for the next Charred Walls of the Damned album which I'm super psyched to say that we will begin recording next month! So here's some of the stuff that I have going on right now!"
"I just found out that Charred Walls of the Damned is on the preliminary ballot for next years Grammy Awards! We're up for nomination for the song 'Ghost Town', so if you're a member of the Grammy committee I would be honored if you vote for us!! This was something that I didn't even fathom that we'd ever be considered for so just to be on the preliminary ballot is an honor!"
personally i cannot wait for this! and this time i will NOT miss the show _________________ The bass player/vocalist for In Through the Out Door and the bass player/backup vokills for Die Deader |

That's awesome. Dude, it would not hurt ones career to be able to say "Grammy nominated" or "Grammy winning" before your name.
And can't wait for another record! So this confirms Tim's two records for next year, Beyond Fear 2 and Charred Walls 2. I love a good sequel _________________

Myke, i agree with everything you said! and this gives Tim some recognition in my opinion that he doesn't get from the music community because of him always being "the other guy" and this is something him, Christy and DiGorgio deserve for all their years of service in the name of METAL! _________________ The bass player/vocalist for In Through the Out Door and the bass player/backup vokills for Die Deader |

Grammys...
I just looked it up on Wikipedia and they've had bands like Korn, Slipknot, Nine Inch Nails, Rage Against the Machine, Tool, Def Tones, etc. awarded Best Metal Performance. These guys just don't know metal.
But, if it brings some recognition and attention to the band, that's a good thing. _________________

+10000 Agreed, I'm glad somebody else sees this, they should NOT be defined metal, in fact any other band created past 1989 should not be defined as metal in my opinion _________________

Nice for them!
Interesting to hear that they might be doing another album...I just hope Christy will give Tim some freedom to do vocal melodies, since they weren't that great on the first one....I assume they were done by Christy...don't know.... _________________

Agreed on both counts, though with Jason producing again, its debatable. But perhaps they will have a bigger budget and longer schedule this time around to allow for a superior product. _________________

| first cd was awesome, hopefully the second is in the same vain. As far as the grammys go, I agree, any recognition for ripper is great and deserved |

Honestly I wasn't impressed with CWOTD that much, other than Ghost Town I didn't like it that well. I think the biggest problem for me was production sounded a little muddy and Ripper's vocals weren't in your face. I'm more excited to see a Beyond Fear cd than another CWOTD cd but that's just me. As far as the whole Ripper working with Black Sabbath I say no, don't do it because he's always been in the shadows of other great leading from men and he needs to stand on his own and make his own mark.
It would be cool to see him do a few shows but that's all not a full blown cd and tour cause everyone will be like he's not Dio or he's not Ozzy like they did Matt in Iced Earth and Rob in Judas Priest. Ripper is one of the best heavy metal vocalists ever and I want for him to do it his way not by covering old songs. I've followed him since his Winter's Bane days and he blew me away back then. |
