So today is the 25th Anniversary Of Metallica's Master Of Puppets Album. Since The Soundscan era Master Of Puppets since 1991 has sold 4.5 million copies.
So is it a classic album to you, do you hate Metallica what for whatever reason? Is this on of the best 80's metal albums?Opinions everyone!
I got into rock and metal music in 1987 after hearing Guns N Roses - Appetite For Destruction. I stole a tape from a library which was Metallica - Jump In The Fire EP. Metallica to me then were the heaviest music you could listen to, bearing in mine as mentioned i got into rock music from Guns N Roses which isnt that heavy anyway. Master Of Puppets is a very good album. Battery is excellent, Master too obviously, Leper Messiah is also very good song. I've owned this album on cd since about 1995. I hardly listen to it these days, but on occaison if in the mood the odd song from it goes on. |

I like Master Of Puppets...part from Orion...the rest of the album is really good.
For me it's without a doubt the high water mark of Metallica's career...and it has been nothing but down hill after that with their commercial crap. _________________

Never been a fan of Metallica, but I respect their music and fans. I kinda liked some songs off of Ride The Lightning though
I later realised that the songs I liked were co-written by Dave Mustaine which is of course the leader of Megadeth, one of my favorite bands _________________ Forged In The Sacred Flames.

Master of Puppets kicks ass.
I loved their first 3 records and the Garage Days EP. Never cared much for any of their stuff since. _________________

It's one of the greatest thrash albums of all time. It's also the same age as me _________________

MoP is a great album, the turning point for their careers. I think if Cliff would have not died, Metallica would be a totally different band today. _________________

I remember watching a retrospective of the band on tv some years ago. James talked about Cliff's death. Bus crashed, and he got crushed by the wreckage and died. Driver claimed black ice, there was no black ice, James said he searched the road for said ice. Thinks driver was drunk and wanted to kill him as Cliff was his best friend. Shame....Great bassist..RIP! |
