I picked up my copy of Nostradamus today. I am listening now. It is really good. I agree with Johnny, Demolition is better than this album. It is a good album, though. The production is flawless. I don't agree that is sounds like Turbo. The only thing that makes it similar to Turbo is the synth guitars, other than that, this kills Turbo. _________________

Well, it's far from being a balls out all hell breaks loose metal album, that's for sure. _________________

Just got the Deluxe Edition today, and I'm listening it through for the first time and I really don't know what to say...
This is probably the heaviest Rob-era album ever...and I mean heavy, not Painkiller-fast... At times this sounds a lot like something the Dio-era Sabbath might come up with, musically....Also Don has conjured up some mean ass sounds from his Kurzweil...
The surprise to me was how most of the interludes actually have vocals and they aren't just boring little acoustic or keyboard tunes (Framing Armageddon style).
Rob uses his voice quite differently than ever before on a Priest album...very few high pitch screams and screaming vocals, which is good since his voice is not what it used to be..
The story is very interesting and getting into that need a several listenings more...
The Deluxe package isn't quite what I thought it would be...it is a book size instead of a normal cd-digipack size...it is pretty cool don't get me wrong, but where the hell can I stick that in my cd library!?!? It just doesn't fit!
The overall artwork is pretty close of being totally amazing! _________________

what is in the book? A description of Nastrodamus' life? His predictions? I saw it on the back shelf, when I bought my copy. It was $35 or something like that. _________________

Just the lyrics, small introdution written by the band and a bit about Nostradamus, some amazing artwork (but those might be on the original booklet as well but obviously smaller in size) and that is pretty much it...
I payed 24.99$ on Amazon from mine, well worth it though especially now that the dollar is low... _________________

I like it. It sounds awesome on my surround sound even though I don't think it's actually recorded in 5.1.
If I listen to it in terms of the way the band meant to present it I like it alot. If I'm looking for that typical Priest single then I'd be disappointed.
I hear something new everytime I listen to it. They definately put a lot of time and effort into it. With that being said I also think they simplified a lot to let the orchestral elements come through which probably turns a lot of metal fans off.
I'm one of those people who don't need to be slapped upside the head to enjoy a metal or even hard rock album. I can understand how people looking for another Painkiller or Sentinal would be disappointed.
Like every Priest album it is what it is. |

I agree screaming, if you listen to it for the typical JP stuff, then you will be disappointed. This album is a whole new thing for them.
I see you live in Charlotte. I lived there for 18 years, before I moved up to the Greensboro area. _________________

| Been here for 15. You guys have better radio up there. At least they play Priest and Sabbath. I used to be up that way all the time before the Textile industry left for China. |
