Thanks, man. It took five shots of vodka to work up the courage to write that. _________________

Now guys,
Its a nice photograph with some sleek digital editing.
Yngwie Malmsteen doesn't need an overly creative album cover.
He expects that people with buy it simply because he is on it. _________________

He should have hired an artist to design something for him. _________________

I don't beg. My phone doesn't ring. I got Beyond Fear #1 under my belt. As a huge fan that is very special. What they do on that side of the planet is none of my business. Tim told me back during May about the solo album, and that he had me in mind for the cover. I told him when hes ready for me to get the pencils movin' to give me a call. He said "You got it!" Its almost November and when is the release date for that again? If he doesn't use me I'm okay with that, I understand there are other artists better than me and record label execs that are very picky. I just hope its not last minute if he does use me. I have been keeping time for him clear in my project roster, so if he decides I'm not the guy, I hope he at least tells me.
I should probably get my thingy changed from album cover guy to Derek Riggs Impersonator. Album Covers aren't what I've been successful with.
I can say I'm working on the funniest cartoon on the planet, and it will be networked to the right people when its done. Its through someone I personally met around here during one of the art crawls. My target is [adult swim].
Im also working on an amazing children's book that is written by the international award winning artist "Cotton" Ketchie. He wanted a nonrealistic artist for the project and thats me.
I'm also doing the Exhibit for NexGen Pulp, which I have full rights to and I've released a segment of on my deviantart.
But yeah, it'd be surely great if I was still the guy for Beyond Fear 2 and the solo album. But only time will tell. Record companies that I've sent my resume to and the fact I was on BF1 have politely ignored me. Especially the metal labels.
As far as Yngwie's cover goes, it's "safe". Theres no real statement, it doesn't say much about the album other than its a new Yngwie album. The photo is nice, its nicely retouched, theres a flame effect on it which is VERY original, and the logo is nicely adjusted for the time period.
The cover wouldn't deter me from buying the cd. If I wanted the new Yngwie album I'd look on the shelves and say "Oh! Theres Yngwie Malmsteen!"

Why don't you draft up some ideas and send them to Tim?
That way, if he does decide to use you, it won't be last minute. You'll already have something to work with. _________________

I've sent a few ideas.
The most I get out of him in email is:
"pretty cool" or "no. that won't work"

Double post.
Anyway guys.
I've sent another piece, and he doesn't think it'll work either. He's not sure about the visual concept yet, and hes just crazy busy.
So, well...
I guess I'll wait and see what he asks for unless I get more ideas myself.
Due to the nature of this board I'm open to suggestions or collaborations. Or hell if you're better than me then just post it up here and let Tim look himself.

Some metal-looking comic book kind of character busting out of the ground or a cage or something. Like a metal god being unleashed or reborn. _________________
