Eh, fair enough. It's pretty easy to satisfy me when it comes to leads.
If it shreds, it works for me. |
i am one of those whatever works for the song is good for me ppl, so the solos don't have to be beyond amazing for me as long as they suit the song cause i have heard some amazing solos that make the song sound like shit ya know? _________________ The bass player/vocalist for In Through the Out Door and the bass player/backup vokills for Die Deader |

Me too. Sometimes guitarists get so into their solos that they end up playing something totally unrelated to the song.
A solo doesn't have to be great technically, as long as it fits the song. _________________

Hopefully the new guy will contribute solos too. And use the bridge pickup for them! _________________ Xeper

Yeh, better release that goddamned second BF-album soon
I didn't like the soloalbum of Tim's...looking for some more heavy stuff, which I believe will be delivered with the next BEYOND FEAR _________________ "Stay loud and proud my friend, put techno & rap to the flames" |

I think the problem with Tim's solo record is the slow, plodding tempo of the whole thing. The songs are good, but ... I don't know... it just needs some more energy.
Beyond Fear has that bit of kick to it that made it better overall. _________________

Well I don't know...I kind of like the more Hard Rock feel in some songs...
But it really isn't that kind of "inyourface" metal album as Beyond Fear, but that was evident already when I saw the list of the people involved. _________________

It was evidence enough when it was stated that Tim's manager decided that his solo-album was the one to be released first, and to wait with the 2nd BF-album. Already then I understood that the solo-album was to be much more mainstream-ish. And it is...cannot be denied!
Much more energy and punch in BEYOND FEAR, but I hope they'll still keep a bit of the Heavy Metal-feeling that the first album has, and not entirely speed. Variation is the best _________________ "Stay loud and proud my friend, put techno & rap to the flames" |

yes Tim's solo album isnt as in your face as Beyond Fear, but that was to be expected. Not to say its a bad album though, its still a very good album. its more classic rock/hard rock sounding....alot of similarities to say Dio's solo stuff IMO. Just because the music is not heavy metal/thrash metal etc does not mean its crap...thing with some people these days, if the music isnt heavy its rubbish.... |
