Phew...that would be something, for any Prisoner fans here? There is a complete new mini series been made and I think completed to be aired on Sky TV.
Condensed into a six part series as opposed to the original seventeen episodes with the premise of The Prisoner but set in today`s standards? I forget the actor`s name although he wouldn`t have been my first choice in the leading role.
It is called The Prisoner and after all those years of a proposed film version they have now opted for a mini series. Personally although I am against the idea a film version should have been the order of the day. In fact I would say it should have happened when Patrick was still alive and well.
And so comparisons with the original and only Prisoner...Patrick McGoohan will be made and without his presence. Maybe it was meant to be lke that.
Of course I`m going to watch it and probably end up buying all the merchandise, however I really find it impossible it`s going to live up to anything like the original. The jury is out and I`m bewildered on how they intend to modernise such an art work.
I`ll keep everyone posted on this issue as The Prisoner is TV noir...it really didn`t get any beter than this. Be seeing you PowerKnight
